Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information TutorLoop ("TutorLoop," "we," "us") collects when you use tutor-loop.com and the TutorLoop app (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information: your name, email address, password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider) and account type (tutor or parent).
• Early access list: if you join our early access list, your email address, optional name and whether you are a tutor or parent.
• Student and tutoring information: information tutors and parents enter about students and sessions, such as student names, session dates and times, session reports, skill ratings, progress summaries, file attachments and messages.
• Business and receipt details: for tutors, business name, business address and credential information used on receipts.
• Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe. TutorLoop does not store full card numbers. We receive limited information from Stripe such as payment status, amounts and the last four digits of a card.
• Technical information: basic log data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, plus cookies needed to keep you signed in.

How we use information

• To provide the Service, including scheduling, reports, messaging, payments and receipts.
• To connect tutors with the parents of the students they work with.
• To manage subscriptions, free trials and billing.
• To contact you about your account, and, if you joined the early access list, about TutorLoop's launch.
• To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use student information for advertising.

Children's information

TutorLoop accounts are for adults: tutors and parents or guardians. Students do not create accounts. Information about a student is entered by that student's tutor or parent and is only visible to the tutor(s) and linked parent(s) for that student. A parent or guardian may ask us to review or delete information about their child by contacting us at the address below.

How information is shared

• Within the Service: between a tutor and the linked parents of that tutor's students.
• Service providers: companies that help us run TutorLoop, including our hosting, database and authentication providers, and Stripe for payments. They may only use information to provide services to us.
• Legal reasons: when required by law or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users or TutorLoop.

Receipts you generate may be submitted by you to a scholarship program such as Step Up For Students. TutorLoop does not send information to these programs on your behalf.

Data retention and security

We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, meet legal and accounting obligations, and resolve disputes. Access to data is restricted at the database level so users can only see records they are connected to. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Your choices

• You can update your account information from inside the app.
• You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information.
• You can ask to be removed from the early access list at any time.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify account holders by email or in the app.
